About Me:
I graduated from the University of Montana Western with a Bachelors Degree in Natural Horsemanship and Business Management. I have always been passionate about horses, and always looking for a way to finesse my skills. My disciplines started with English & Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Reining, and Speed Event such as Barrel Racing and Pole Bend (although my horses weren’t that speedy and my focus was more on Pleasure Riding). A lot of the things that I learned were self-taught, or I had great family friends that would help me. When my family could afford it, I learned from some great horsemen.
My skills improved when I went to Montana Western, were I had three hour classes five days a week with an instructor. I got into working with colts through my first ranch employer. He helped me improve my skills as he was a close friend to Ray Hunt. This is also the time when I got more into working cows and ranch work.
I have learned that over the years when you are working with horses you are on the horse’s time frame, and that there is no such thing as 1 hour sessions. When working with horses, I always wanted to take the time to truly understand them, and their personalities. To work together in harmony, and create that dance between horse and rider.
At this time of my life, I feel like it is time to pay it forward. I want to help clients with their young horses, and/or work with students with their horse(s). My goal is to help colts, or students, overcome challenging obstacles, and be ready for real world situations, whether it’s ranch work or for the show pen. My goal is to create that horse rider language, which in turn can help the horse, and student, excel in real life situations.
